WordPress is most widely in use CMS currently. Almost every second website is using it now. In past there was rule of custom development but WordPress taken over it completely. Its good to develop websites in WordPress as its easy to manage. WordPress Plugins on other hand are available easily. have lots and lots of plugins available over internet for it.

But here important thing to remember is same way how those plugins helps us in development. Same way they can hurt our website badly also. Too many unnecessary plugins could lead you to a disaster.
Effect on Speed
Most basic issue you could find of due to these plugins could be speed of your website. With increase in number of plugins you will surely increase number of scripts being used in your website. As almost plugin uses some scripts like jQuery or others to work. When you use too many plugins it causes increase in those scripts. And loading of those scripts increases load time of your webpage. Which is not good for website rank. As speed of website matters greatly for good rank over internet.

WordPress Plugins Effect of Compatibility
As we all know WordPress sends updates consistently over the period of its use. Like few years ago we were using WordPress version 3 and now its over 4.9. So, it keeps improving its layout and structure to help users with better experience. Now here important thing is WordPress is an organization which developed it and maintain it.
[bctt tweet=”Make sure your #website is functioning properly. Keep checking plugins and #WordPress version compatibility.”]
While on other hand plugins which we are using with it are not same. They are being developed and maintain by different users. It is not sure that plugin you were using with one version of WordPress will work with new update also. These kinds of things could create real issues.
Like if you are using 10 Plugins and 8 of them are not compatible with new versions. While old version of WordPress had venerability due to which WordPress updated it. In that kind of case you are in real trouble.
Security of Website
As discussed in previous section about regarding to compatibility of plugins and WordPress version. We can lead it forward towards with security issue. Like you are using a plugin in your website as a critical one. Mean without which your website won’t perform functions which you wanted it to be. Your website is famous and suddenly there comes a notification from security providers that plugin is not secure and is venerable to attacks.
[bctt tweet=”Make sure your #website is secure. Always Run #securityscans in regular intervals.”]
Now here if developer of that plugin is not active anymore and you don’t have any other option with you then you are in trouble. You have two options either to develop that functionality by your self and get rid of that plugin. Or sit and wait for developer to provide new secure version of that plugin. Letting old one running which is serious threat.
Those three are most basic concerns of any web developer and business owner. Speed of website, Compatibility of it over time and Security of Website. Here in some cases we are compromising almost all of them.
[bctt tweet=”#Speed #Compatibility and #Security are important aspects of any Website.”]
We can avoid that by focusing on need of plugins. Only use plugins which are most needed and their developer is active over time. Mean he’s sending revisions of his plugin over time based upon issues and is active in support. Do not completely rely on plugins for all sort of actions. Else develop critical functionality of your website by yourself in website theme or create your own plugin for it. So you may know how you are doing things.
Except then those issues WordPress is really great CMS to use now a days. Wide range of plugins allow you to create a fully functional website easily and efficiently. But here one thing to remember always consult specialist about how to do things. Except of doing it by yourself. As even starters can develop websites in WordPress. But they don’t have knowledge about lots of things and they can’t manage them efficiently which could lead them and their business to disaster in future.
